Sep 10 Road Warriors for Hope: Washington, D.C.

At CleanSlate, we consider ourselves Warriors for Hope. Chief Medical Officer Kelly J. Clark, M.D., travels the country speaking about what that means. She recently appeared at the ASAM Corporate Round Table in our nation’s capitol. Here is the latest dispatch from Dr. Clark:

• This was a meeting of business leaders —  from treatment providers, labs, pharma, health plans and others — who support the work of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), for which I serve as president.
• These stakeholder groups share our concern about improving the quality care of those with addiction and ensuring access to evidence-based treatment.
• It was easy to recognize two of CleanSlate’s values (Science and Medicine Matter, Together We Succeed) in the energy of the room, as we discussed how to overcome some of the key challenges to spreading access for medication-assisted treatment across our country. This was, without question, a top focus for this group of key leaders in the fight against opioid addiction.
